World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade of an item allows players to increase the gear score of an item to 700 and also add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory and heading to the kiln.
Certain items can be upgraded to benefit from their unique stats (like perfect made breakpoint armour that can be rolled to use in melee PvP) while others like weapons don't change much post upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats such as damage to attack, crit chance, PvE and damage from PvP. Weapons also have a flat bonus which increases the damage they deal per second. Additionally there are many weapons with a set bonus that activates when three or more of the same weapon is present on a single unit. This bonus may be greater than the damage that a weapon upgrade alone can cause.
The cost of upgrading a weapon varies on its rarity and level. For example an item with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will increase until it needs a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons also alter the stats of the base. While this is generally a good thing but it can also have negative consequences as well. For items that are only used in a particular build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs for instance), upgrading them may render them unusable unless you have an extremely fortunate roll.
It is possible to upgrade armor items to increase their performance. This can increase the defense base of a helm or chest while belts and gloves will increase their required strength and agility. Armor also has the option of rerolling its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it can sometimes reroll to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon will display the new stats it will gain upon upgrading and their respective values. This means that the weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will hit for 3 fewer times as it is an absolute number.
A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button, which is accompanied by circling arrows in the item menu. The item will be rerolled and change its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's levels or bind to account status.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make a huge difference to your survival. Certain sets provide massive increases in poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, which can make traversing tough areas a breeze. In general, the more defense you have on your character, the greater health you will get from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor.

To upgrade your armor, go to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four fountains in all and each one requires you to complete a unique side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed your main quest and the corresponding fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.
The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor is different. It is possible to use anything between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. For example the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep pace with a decent-sized group of adversaries in most cold environments and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded all the way to +20 defense, giving you enough protection to survive the full-on assault with a few of your friends.
You can't upgrade your armor the same as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor to increase physical power or spell power. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you will still be wearing by the end of the story, such as the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you wear in the final boss fight The Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town and you will be able to gain some benefits to your armor. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game. For instance, the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have some upgrades to the helmets and chest armor to let you escape some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by the participant, produce a temporary effect. There are five kinds of potions, each having a specific set of effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to improve their level of effectiveness. Additionally, the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to them.
Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount XP. This can be obtained by making them on a crafting table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. However, the cost of upgrading will vary based on the kind of potion you wish to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level and rarity.
To upgrade a potion, right-click on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI where you can select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll yield when upgraded. Upgrading potions can be done in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP count.
Once a poton is upgraded and stored, it will not degrade unless you use it again or break the bottle in the container it is stored. You can also rename the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the mechanism of potions. item upgrader , for example have now a duration of that is 0:08 instead of 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display for the item. The potion table can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can now be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Unlike the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions cannot be used in cauldrons. The same applies to the use of a potion in the cauldron that is filled. This will deplete the liquid, and then refill the bottle.
In addition, there are simmering potions made using splash and dragon breath potions. Redstone is also added to potions that are lingering to increase their effects. The potion table is now laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were added, such as potion of leaping, decomposition potion, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket can be described as a small and inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It may be a reference to a piece of art or a decoration that serves a purpose but is not particularly important such as a thimble. In certain cultures, a trinket can be used to express friendship or affection between family members.
In addition to armor, weapons and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. These can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Unlike other item upgrades trinkets are able to be exchanged at will without losing their status.
The upgrade vendors are located in major cities and in the capital of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available with gold, tokens or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrading a trinket is an economical alternative to buying an entirely new one. It can be done by a player for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base level as the previous trinket but it also comes with an additional 1% bonus upgrade.
Trinkets can be upgraded once they're not needed and allows players to increase their power and worth over time. They can also be traded between players and are an attractive alternative to gold.
In general players should upgrade their most important items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondaries, and finally other items of gear will not be replaced in the near future (for example, a ring or cloak). When choosing which items to upgrade players should be aware of their class's preferred statistics. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for tank players and they want to upgrade their chest, helm, and shoulders.
Once they have become useless trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket has an additional 1% bonus. However, a re-upgrade is likely to ruin the previous trinket in the event that it is not saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or a higher-tier salvage tool. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still cheaper than buying the new one.
